Databases are full of information that's already been evaluated by experts, so they're a great place to start your research! Once you open the list of databases, it's usually best to pick a database and search them one at a time. See suggestions below (more coming soon).

These databases are funded jointly by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners and the Massachusetts Library System, so you can access them for free.

The Purdue Online Writing Lab (OWL)

The English Department at Purdue University started an online writing lab in 1994. Today 1.4 million unique users visit the Purdue OWL website each week during the academic year (Purdue University, 2024). The Purdue OWL is a writing reference for proper word usage, punctuation, grammar, and style.
